The Department of Nanotechnology Engineering aims to nurture advanced engineers who can lead the next generation of industry in nanotechnology. Nanotechnology is an interdisciplinary field that includes science and engineering as diverse as materials science, organic chemistry, semiconductor devices and physics, energy generation and storage, microfabrication, and medicine. As the root of innovation, fueling changes in life and society, nanotechnology opens many career options from medical to pharma to electronics to automotive and materials research. The associated research and applications are equally varied, ranging from extensions of conventional device physics to completely new approaches based on molecular self-assembly, from developing new materials with dimensions on the nanoscale to direct control of matter on the atomic scale.

Educational Objectives

Cultivating creative engineers who solve problems in new ways, self-directed thinking, and international competitiveness through the multidisciplinary nanotechnology

Cultivating talents in the fields of next-generation energy and semiconductors combined with nanotechnology to lead the nurturing of future industries that will replace the main industries where their stagnation and competitiveness are weakening

Job Opportunities

· Opportunities for careers that involve nanoscale research and technology are increasingly common, as many industry sectors incorporate nano science and engineering in their research and product development cycles

· National Research Institutes, Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, LG Energysolution, Hyundai Motors, SK Innovation, LG Chemicals, Samsung SDI, LG Innotek, LG Display, Samsung Display, etc
