The Major of Polymer Engineering (DPE) is one of the leading Major in Pukyong National University, the oldest university in Busan, Korea. Our Major has a young, dynamic faculty that is actively engaged in teaching, research, and service activities, and thus is expected to play a large role in the future of the field of polymer science and engineering. DPE makes every effort to develop the next generation of leaders and innovators with a wide-range of knowledge and skills in the field of polymer engineering as well as an upstanding character. The Major not only provides an up-to-date education but also has state-of-the-art research programs that can be applied to various fields including electronics, semiconductors, the automotive and aerospace industries, life science, the environment and clean industries, secondary batteries, and high-tech electronics industries. In order to maximize potential synergies, we also strive to build a cooperative network between industry, academia, and national research institutes in the southeastern region of Korea.
To foster a basic knowledge and designing ability that is necessary for polymer engineers.
To foster teamwork spirit and the ability to effect problem resolution.
To nurture intellectuals who can manage flexibly manage globalization and new technology.
