The Major of Mechanical System Engineering, established in 1968, has a half-century-long tradition. Its educational aims are to foster advanced technical manpower for the operation and design of precision, automation, and intelligent mechanical systems, and to train engineers for the operation, maintenance, and management of ships. Recently, its scope has widened due to the necessity of robotics in integrating ICT into mechanical systems on on-shore plants, transport machines, marine ships, and marine plants in time for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
