The Major of Mechanical Design Engineering develops expertise in the mechanical engineering field through fundamental courses such as solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, dynamics, mechanical element design, controls, and electrical/electronic engineering. Students learn not only theory and technology, but also integrated design and problem-solving abilities based on cutting-edge mechanical engineering subjects such as computer engineering design/manufacturing, robotics, sensors, and microprocessors. In senior courses, subjects converge with the Capstone Design and Bachelor Thesis Study. Courses are designed to provide creative engineering potentials to students living in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. After graduation, students become highly creative engineers with professional engineering knowledge and techniques.
To train students to become engineers with integrated design capabilities based on vocational ethics and academic knowledge.
To train students to become global engineers with creative problem-solving capabilities
To train students to become future-oriented engineers capable of developing and applying new technologie
The major also aims to prepare professional technicians and researchers in the areas of Mechatronics, Automation, Robotics, and Information Technology which are the core basis for the modern industry technology. Graduates may seek employment not only with traditional mechanic industries such as Automobile industries, Shipbuilding industries, and Aircraft building industries but Computer, Audio-visual instrument, General electronics instrument, and other IT related precision instrument manufacturing industries. Moreover, the graduates may advance into the future generation power industry related field such as mechanic engineering technology fuse into electro electrical engineering, artificial intelligence, and computer and information engineering technology.
